Revamp Your Space: Mid-Century Modern Apartment Decor and Home Bedroom Refresh Ideas
I named this piece "Returning Heart." Its meaning is: the return date is uncertain, the scenery is picturesque, and where the heart yearns, there is home. Material things can never satisfy the spiritual world; no matter where one is, they cannot escape their roots! Visiting the people and places of my hometown has become a very important part of enhancing my sense of happiness!
Living Room Decor
This vacation home in my hometown is designed for occasional stays, striking a balance between functionality and the blend of art and emotion, creating a space that tells a rich, compelling story. The color palette is rooted in earthy tones, with an abundance of natural elements incorporated into the interior. The result is a space that feels simple, natural, and warm. It evokes a sense of nostalgia, where time seems to flow seamlessly between past and future. What was once the future becomes the past, and the past was once the future.
The house boasts an expansive view, overlooking the entire city and the distant rolling mountains. With no obstructions, it offers a direct and stunning perspective of the hometown's natural beauty and urban transformation.
Outside, it’s the hometown; inside, it's a glimpse of childhood, connecting memories from the entire journey of life.
The supple and naturally textured aniline leather sofa exudes a vintage charm. An aged wooden coffee table with chiseled patterns enhances the handcrafted feel to the fullest.
Wooden pillars collected during travels are placed in front of a screen, with stones gathered from the mountains of my hometown adorning them. These stones, resembling rhinos, bees, or even puppies, invite abstract interpretations and imaginative definitions. This home, rich with stories, is both rustic and intriguing.
The entire home is crafted with a sense of rustic simplicity and natural charm, infused with the leisurely feel of the countryside. Since this vacation home is meant for occasional stays, it doesn't need to overly prioritize practicality at the expense of aesthetics. This allows for a richer array of elements to be presented in artistic and emotive ways, making the space truly unique and captivating.
Dining Room Decor
The open and airy layout takes full advantage of the house's north-south orientation. All interior walls were removed to create an open-concept kitchen, seamlessly integrating the load-bearing columns into a structural island. The home's foundation is combined with functional design elements, resulting in a space that is well-organized, with a logical layout, smooth flow, and unobstructed views.
Entryway
As you enter, a few wooden pillars immediately catch your eye, serving as a screen between the entryway and the interior space. These pillars, sourced from the countryside, are nearly a hundred years old. After a thorough cleaning, they were used directly as decor, preserving their most authentic and pure appearance.
The beige stone stool beside the sideboard is a piece the designer has cherished since he was fifteen or sixteen years old. It seems as though everything has a traceable path. From a young age, he had a peculiar fondness for such objects. After years of collecting his "treasures," he has now, as a designer, imbued them with new value.
In this new home, he found the perfect spot for it, whether as a bench for changing shoes or simply as a decorative piece. The actions of his youth have now come full circle, and the story of this home is becoming increasingly clear.
Lounge Area
To the left of the entrance, a small space is designated as a relaxation area—a place for tea, meditation, and reminiscing with a few close friends.
The stone on the walls of this room is natural, sourced from the nearby mountains of the hometown. Its rough texture and natural patterns perfectly complement the rustic and authentic feel of this elegant and tranquil space.
Home Bedroom Refresh
To create a natural and serene sleeping environment, adorned with wooden elements. This adds a touch of rustic elegance and seamlessly continues the overall style of the home, ensuring harmony and continuity throughout the space.
By focusing on decor furnishings rather than elaborate designs, the entire space maintains a rustic and tranquil atmosphere. The minimalist design evokes a deep sense of relaxation and comfort, creating an ideal environment conducive to a good night's sleep.
