Combining the dining and living areas with a minimalist approach ensures both functionality and visual harmony

Creating an open, flowing space that combines dining and living areas can add both style and functionality to your home.

In this modern, minimalist villa, we seamlessly merged the dining and living areas to foster a sense of unity, comfort, and sophistication.

The Dining Area

CarlosCASA Black Round Dining Table

The first image showcases the elegant dining area of this modern villa.

At the center, we placed a round table with a diameter of 63 inches, finished in a sleek black accent that perfectly complements the space.

Surrounding the table are six Marcel Breuer Cesca Cane Chairs upholstered in black leather, adding both comfort and a timeless Bauhaus touch.

Above the table, we suspended the iconic Akari 75A Washi Paper Lamp by Isamu Noguchi, casting a soft glow over the area and creating a warm, inviting atmosphere.

The dining room opens directly into the living area, where natural light streams in through sheer curtains, filling the space with a gentle radiance.

The Living Area

The second image focuses on the living area, a cozy yet sophisticated space defined by clean lines and a modern aesthetic.

Facing the television wall, we placed two Pierre Jeanneret Chandigarh Collection Capitol Complex Armchairs, upholstered in beige boucle fabric with black solid wood frames.

These chairs bring a classic mid-century feel to the space. Near the large floor-to-ceiling windows, we positioned an LC3 single-seater sofa in light blue genuine leather, featuring a tubular chrome frame—a true tribute to Bauhaus style.

In front of the TV wall, we added a console table measuring 79 x 35 inches, creating a perfect balance between functionality and style.

The Reception Area

The third image highlights the reception area, which features the long console table directly facing the TV wall.

This beautiful black solid wood table is surrounded by four Pierre Jeanneret Chandigarh Armchairs, made from black solid ash wood.

Above the table hangs another Akari 75A Washi Paper Lamp by Isamu Noguchi, which ties together the dining and reception areas with its unique, elegant design.

A bookshelf in the background serves as a perfect display for treasured books and antiques, adding a personal touch to the space.

A Stunning Rectional View

The fourth image presents a sectional view of the living and reception areas.

The striking acrylic base of the black console table catches the eye—a modern, transparent feature that we often pair with solid wood tops such as oak, teak, or walnut.

If you are interested in acquiring this unique acrylic base, feel free to leave a comment at the end of the blog or contact us via email;

We would be more than happy to assist.

A View Toward the Kitchen

The fifth image offers a view from the living area towards the kitchen.

We chose transparent glass sliding doors for the kitchen, ensuring ample light flows between the kitchen and dining areas.

This transparency also creates an effortless transition between the spaces while maintaining visual openness and brightness.

The Reception Area’s Display Wall

The sixth image is a view facing the reception area from the back of the TV wall.

Here, the collection display shelves are in full view, offering a sense of refinement and character to the reception area.

The Akari pendant light remains a standout feature, giving this corner a unique radiance that we find irresistible.

A Unique Perspective

In the seventh image, we stand with our back to the large living room windows, facing the reception area.

The two Pierre Jeanneret Capitol Complex Armchairs steal the show with their distinct design and sophisticated aura.

Imagine hosting guests during a weekend gathering—those seated in these armchairs are bound to feel like the protagonists of the scene.

This view also reveals the tasteful artwork on the left wall, adding yet another layer to the homeowner’s unique sense of style and appreciation for art.
